Thyme is one of the best known and most widely-used culinary herbs. There are several popular varieties available in nurseries that are not only are delicious to use food preparation, but also are attractive additions in the garden.

All thyme plants are easy to grow and are commonly found as a decorative as well as a functional plant in many home gardens. Thyme is one of the most popular herbs, both fresh and dried. It is used in a wide variety of savory dishes.

The tiny fragrant, pale pink blossoms of common thyme, lemon or lime thyme, and silver thyme are wonderful additions to salads, cream cheese and when sprinkled on vegetables, potatoes, chicken, fish, or when used to garnish soups. Cold beverages such as orange, apple, or peach juice come alive when infused with sprigs of thyme blossoms. Or simple add a few sprigs of thyme flowers to iced carbonated or spring water, ½ teaspoon agave syrup, and a little fresh squeezed lemon or lime juice.
